WELCOME

Welcome to Libereco, we are a school that provides a tailored educational curriculum to help you homeschool your children.

Because Libereco is a school that cares about the environment, we have decided to go paperless.

We use IXL as a Learning Platform so parents can keep track of their students’ academic advance.

We are an inclusive school, Libereco welcomes all families regardless of race, color, language, faith, or political views.

After taking the Diagnostic Exams and picking the best education style of the child taking their preferences in mind, we can personalize their Curriculum Map even further by following a combination of the following teaching philosophies:

TRADITIONAL

Traditional homeschooling most commonly include a set of books that need to be followed and turned in for each class that is taken. These books have set formats that include just a few multiple choice or open ended questions.

CLASSIC

From 6-10 years old, the grammatical stage focuses on the absorption of information and memorization of educational rules. Spelling, pronunciation, history, sciencies, math, etc.

From 10-12 years old, is the dialect stage where logic and debate are emphasized as well with an understanding of how to reach a conclusion, redact a thesis or discriminate true and false information.

From 12-18 years old students work on the rhetoric stage which is a continuation of structured and strict studies that are used to develop needed language skills.

CHARLOTTE MASON

The focus of this system is literature that is considered “living books” instead of a textbook. This emphasizes the study of nature, the parreciation of art or music, traditional artforms from various cultures, in combination with the traditional classes. The idea is to offer the child a “banquet” of possible topics to learn from and grow a love for.

STUDY UNITS

A good unit study involves learning about one topic in an interesting and engaging way that will captivate the student and make them want to learn more and continue to think about the things they are learning. From cell phones to Ethiopia to catapults and elephants, unit studies can open up the world to your child, one topic at a time.

For example, choosing Egypt as the main topic we can explore its history, geography, art, numeral system, and writing system.

UNSCHOOLING

Unschooling is an informal learning style that advocates learner-chosen activities as a primary means for learning. Unschoolers learn through their natural life experiences including play, household responsibilities, personal interests and curiosity, internships and work experience, travel, books, elective classes, family, mentors, and social interaction.

At Libereco, if you can think of it we can make it happen. All lesson plans are tailor made for the benefit of your loved ones!
